General Visa Application Requirements to Request Belgian Tourist Visa

  1. Visitor visa application for Belgium – Completed Belgian visa Form.
  2. Original and signed passport – The passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months prior to entering Belgium and 3 months after leaving Belgium. It needs to have at least two extra visa pages and can not be older than ten years.
  3. Passport type photo – Photo needs to be no older than six months and must be 35 x 40mm in size.
  4. Previous passport – Give a previous passport if you had any.
  5. Previous visas – Copies of previous Belgian visas details if you had any.
  6. Flight tickets to Belgium – Reservation of return or round trip flight tickets. In some scenarios the Belgian visa office may request for pre paid air travel tickets to Belgium.
  7. Travel insurance – Evidence of travel insurance policy with a minimum cover set by the Belgian embassy provided with the Certification of Insurance policy and the table of benefits. The travel insurance policy should cover the cost of repatriation for medical reasons and the Certificate of Currency need to be issued by an insurer.   8. Original bank declarations – Original financial institution statements for the last 3 months showing enough funds to cover your trip in Belgium. If statements are printed online then it needs to be Confirmed (marked) by the bank representatives.
  9. Hotel Reservations in Belgium – Copy of confirmed hotel reservations including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, time-span of stay. In most situations, only bookings which are partly or completely pre-paid can be accepted.
  10. Work letter – This letter should be: original and signed letter from employer written on company letter head paper, confirming your ongoing employment, the status of employment, monthly salary and annual leave. Additionally, please offer your three newest pay slips. If you are self-employed: give certified copies of company registration, income tax return.
  11. For students. Please provide the following:
  • Proof of current student status: Certificate of Enrollment.
