General Visa Application Requirements to Obtain Maltese Business Visa

  1. Business visa application for Malta – Completed Maltese visa Form.
  2. Original and signed passport – The passport should be valid for at least 6 months prior to going into Malta and 3 months after departing Malta. It must contain at least 2 spare visa web pages and can not be older than ten years.
  3. Passport type photo – Photo should be no older than 6 months and need to be 35 x 40mm in width.
  4. Previous passport – Offer a previous passport if you had any.
  5. Previous visas – Copies of previous Maltese visas details if you had any.
  6. Flight tickets to Malta – Reservation of return or round trip flight tickets. In some circumstances the Maltese visa office may request for pre paid flight tickets to Malta.
  7. Travel insurance – Proof of travel insurance with a minimum cover set by the Maltese consular office provided with the Certificate of Insurance and the table of benefits.   8. Original financial institution declarations – Original bank statements for the last 3 months revealing sufficient funds to cover your visit in Malta. If statements are printed online after that it has to be Verified (stamped) by the bank officials.
  9. Hotel Reservations in Malta – Copy of confirmed hotel reservations including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, time-span of stay. In a lot of conditions, only bookings which are partially or completely pre-paid can be accepted.
  10. Employment letter – This letter must be: original and signed letter from employer written on company letter head paper, validating your ongoing employment, the status of employment, regular monthly income and annual leave. Additionally, please give your 3 newest pay slips. If you are self-employed: give certified copies of company registration, tax return.
  11. For students. Please offer the following:
  • Proof of present student status: Certificate of Enrollment.

  • Insurance from Organisation/University – Provide a letter from the University specifying the purpose, period of travel and confirmation that you are going to be covered by the insurance policy for the whole journey in addition to the Certificate of Currency and summary of benefits.

In general, visa applications for Maltese visa must be submitted for an optimum of 6 months, and no behind 15 days, before the trip.
