General Visa Application Requirements to Apply for North Korean Tourist Visa

  1. Traveler visa application form for North Korea – Completed North Korean visa application form.
  2. Original and signed passport – The passport has to be valid for at least six months prior to entering North Korea and three months after departing North Korea. It has to have a minimum of two spare visa web pages and can not be older than 10 years.

  8. Original financial institution statements – Original bank statements for the last 3 months revealing enough funds to cover your trip in North Korea. If statements are printed online then it needs to be Validated (stamped) by the bank officials.
  9. Hotel Reservations in North Korea – Copy of confirmed hotel bookings including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, duration of stay. In the majority of conditions, only bookings which are partly or completely pre-paid can be accepted.
  10. Employment letter – This letter should be: original and signed letter from employer written on company letter head paper, validating your ongoing employment, the status of employment, monthly salary and yearly leave.   11. For students. Please offer the following:
  • Evidence of current student status: Certificate of Enrollment.

  • Insurance coverage from Organisation/University– Offer a letter from the University specifying the purpose, period of travel and confirmation that you will be covered by the insurance coverage for the entire trip along with the Certificate of Currency and summary of benefits.
