General Visa Application Requirements to Request Portuguese Business Visa

  1. Business visa application form for Portugal – Completed Portuguese visa application form.
  2. Original and signed passport – The passport has to be valid for a minimum of six months before going into Portugal and 3 months after departing Portugal. It should contain at the very least two spare visa pages and can not be older than ten years.
  3. Passport type photo – Photo has to be no older than six months and must be 35 x 40mm in size.
  4. Previous passport – Provide a previous passport if you had any.
  5. Previous visas – Copies of previous Portuguese visas details if you had any.
  6. Flight tickets to Portugal – Reservation of return or round trip flight tickets. In some circumstances the Portuguese visa office may request prepaid air travel tickets to Portugal.
  7. Travel insurance coverage – Proof of travel insurance coverage with a minimum cover set by the Portuguese consular office provided with the Certification of Insurance and the table of benefits.   9. Hotel Reservations in Portugal – Copy of confirmed hotel reservations including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, duration of stay. In the majority of circumstances, only bookings which are partly or completely pre-paid can be accepted.
  10. Employment letter – This letter must be: original and signed letter from employer written on company letter head paper, validating your ongoing employment, the status of employment, monthly salary and yearly leave.   11. For students. Please supply the following:
  • Evidence of current student status: Certificate of Enrollment.

  • Insurance from Organisation/University – Offer a letter from the University specifying the purpose, period of travel and confirmation that you will be covered by the insurance coverage for the entire journey in addition to the Certificate of Currency and summary of benefits.
