General Visa Application Requirements to Get Tanzanian Business Visa

  1. Business visa Form for Tanzania – Completed Tanzanian visa Form.
  2. Original and signed passport – The passport should be valid for at least six months before entering Tanzania and 3 months after departing Tanzania. It has to contain at least 2 extra visa web pages and can not be older than ten years.
  3. Passport type photo – Photo needs to be no older than 6 months and should be 35 x 40mm in width.
  4. Previous passport – Give a previous passport if you had any.

  6. Flight tickets to Tanzania – Reservation of return or round trip flight tickets. In some instances the Tanzanian visa office may request pre paid air travel tickets to Tanzania.
  7. Travel insurance – Proof of travel insurance policy with a minimum cover set by the Tanzanian consular office provided with the Certificate of Insurance and the table of benefits. The travel insurance policy have to cover the cost of repatriation for medical reasons and the Certificate of Currency need to be issued by an insurer.   8. Original bank declarations – Original bank statements for the last 3 months revealing adequate funds to cover stay in Tanzania. If statements are printed online then it has to be Authenticated (stamped) by the financial institution officials.
  9. Hotel Reservations in Tanzania – Copy of confirmed hotel bookings including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, time-span of stay. In many conditions, only bookings which are partially or completely pre-paid can be accepted.
  10. Employment letter – This letter needs to be: original and signed letter from employer written on company letter head paper, verifying your ongoing employment, the status of employment, regular monthly income and yearly leave. Also, please supply your 3 most recent pay slips. If you are self-employed: provide certified copies of company registration, income tax return.
  11. For students. Please provide the following:
  • Proof of present student status: Certificate of Enrollment.
  • Original and signed letter from university written on university letter head paper, affirming ongoing enrolment, confirming the payment of tuition fees or any type of scholarships, and confirming semester break.
  • Insurance coverage from Organisation/University – Offer a letter from the University specifying the purpose, period of travel and confirmation that you will be covered by the insurance for the whole journey in addition to the Certificate of Currency and summary of benefits.

As a whole, visa applications for Tanzanian visa must be submitted for a maximum of 6 months, and no behind 15 days, prior to the journey.
