General Visa Application Requirements to Request Nepalese Visitor Visa

  1. Tourist visa Form for Nepal – Completed Nepalese visa Form.
  2. Original and signed passport – The passport needs to be valid for at least six months before entering Nepal and three months after departing Nepal. It has to contain a minimum of two extra visa web pages and can not be older than ten years.
  3. Passport type photo – Photo has to be no older than six months and need to be 35 x 40mm in size.
  4. Previous passport – Offer a previous passport if you had any.
  5. Previous visas – Copies of previous Nepalese visas information if you had any.
  6. Flight tickets to Nepal – Reservation of return or round trip flight tickets. In some scenarios the Nepalese visa office might ask for pre paid flight tickets to Nepal.
  7. Travel insurance – Evidence of travel insurance coverage with a minimum cover set by the Nepalese consular office provided with the Certificate of Insurance policy and the table of benefits. The travel insurance policy need to cover the expense of repatriation for medical reasons and the Certificate of Currency need to be issued by an insurance company.   8. Original bank declarations – Original bank statements for the last 3 months showing enough funds to cover your trip in Nepal. If statements are printed online after that it has to be Authenticated (stamped) by the financial institution officials.
  9. Hotel Reservations in Nepal – Copy of confirmed hotel reservations including name of the applicant, name and address of the hotel, duration of stay. In the majority of situations, only bookings which are partially or completely pre-paid can be accepted.
  10. Employment letter – This letter should be: original and signed letter from employer written on company letter head paper, verifying your ongoing employment, the status of employment, monthly salary and annual leave.   11. For students. Please offer the following:
  • Evidence of current student status: Certificate of Enrollment.
  • Original and signed letter from university written on university letter head paper, confirming on-going enrolment, verifying the payment of tuition fees or any scholarships, and confirming term break.
  • Insurance coverage from Organisation/University– Provide a letter from the University specifying the purpose, duration of travel and confirmation that you are going to be covered by the insurance policy for the entire journey in addition to the Certificate of Currency and summary of benefits.

In general, visa applications for Nepalese visa should be sent for an optimum of 6 months, and no later than 15 days, prior to the trip.
